Stardew Valley 1.6 Console Release Date Announced

ConcernedApe, the creator of Stardew Valley, has announced the release date for the console and mobile version of the game’s 1.6 update. The update, which includes a plethora of new features, is set to arrive on November 4th.

What to Expect in the 1.6 Update

The console and mobile version of the update will bring various new features to the game, including the ability for players to drink mayonnaise. This update has been available on PC for a while now, but ConcernedApe has been working hard to ensure that the console and mobile versions are bug-free.

ConcernedApe stated that he always releases updates on PC first, as it acts as a “beta test” to make sure there are no critical bugs. He noted that this type of bug is a “much bigger deal” on consoles, as they take longer to be fixed.

Starting a New Farm

ConcernedApe also mentioned that this update would be the ideal time to start a new farm, as some of the new features are different in the game’s first year compared to year two onwards. He also noted that starting a new farm is always fun, anyway.

ConcernedApe has been committed to finalizing the 1.6 update, and has even put his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, on hold to focus on it. Haunted Chocolatier was first announced in 2021, but ConcernedApe has stated that he’s not too concerned with the pressure of releasing it, as he’d rather have a delayed game that’s actually good than a bad game that’s on time.
