Sega recently revealed that Goro Majima will be the main character in the upcoming game, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. During a live-stream, Sega’s RGG Studio debuted a new trailer for Prime Video’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza live-action series. The trailer not only confirmed Majima’s appearance but also revealed the actor who will portray the character.
Munetaka Aoki will play Majima in the series, which is fitting as he is also voicing the character in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The new trailer is action-heavy and doesn’t offer many story details, but it provides a brief introduction to Majima and the other two leading characters, Kazuma Kiryu and Akira Nishikiyama.
In the show’s version of the story, Kiryu is a former Yakuza who is drawn back into the orbit of his former clan, as well as his childhood friend, Nishikiyama. The modern-day narrative will feature some flashbacks to Kazuma’s past to demonstrate how his previous actions shaped his relationships and reputation in the present.
The series will debut on October 24, with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii set to be released on February 28, 2025. The cast for the series includes:
