A new trailer for Metro Awakening, the latest entry in the post-apocalyptic franchise, has been released, showcasing the atmospheric stealth VR experience for PSVR2, Meta Quest, and Steam VR. If you’re interested in learning more about the Metro universe ahead of Awakening’s arrival, consider diving into the books that inspired the game series.
The series, written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, begins with the lengthy Metro 2033. This novel gives you a closer look at the life of Artyom and the post-apocalyptic world of Moscow. With what’s left of humanity living underground, Artyom ventures through the tunnels and tries to warn the rest of the community about a new threat.
Other books in the series include Metro 2034, which continues the tale, and Metro 2035, which concludes the trilogy. These novels are an excellent companion for the video games, providing extensive background details for many of its characters. There’s also a Metro 2034: Illustrated Edition and a graphic novel available.
