Hitman 3 VR Reloaded: A Disappointing Port

The highly anticipated Hitman 3 VR Reloaded has finally arrived, but unfortunately, it’s a far cry from what fans of the series were hoping for.

A Far Cry from Perfection

Based on 90 minutes of gameplay, it’s clear that the game has a lot of issues that need to be addressed. The cell-shaded graphics are a significant downgrade from the original, with graphical pop-in that’s unlike anything I’ve experienced in a VR title before. The levels feel empty and lifeless, with textures of distant buildings looking like they belong in a 90s game.

The lack of immersive VR interactions is also a major letdown. Doors are opened with button presses, guns are reloaded with button presses, and even climbing ladders is done by pushing up on a thumbstick. It’s a far cry from the immersive experience that fans of the series were hoping for.

Is a Patch Enough to Save the Game?

A patch is set to release on September 9th that will address some of the issues with the game. However, it’s hard to see how a patch can fix the fundamental problems with the game’s port. Perhaps it’s best to wait and see how the patch improves the game before deciding whether or not to pick it up.
