The High Line Plinth in New York is set to welcome a new addition in October – a 16-foot tall statue of a pigeon, aptly named “Dinosaur.” Created by artist Iván Argote, the statue is designed to invoke a sense of familiarity with those who often observe pigeons in the city.
Argote wants people to have a sense of recognition when they see the statue. As he told Curbed, “I really want people to have that feeling. It’s like, Ah, I’ve seen you, man. Here you are. Here you are.”
