Prime Video is potentially expanding its video game-themed offerings with a new animated series, according to a recent report. The series, titled Secret Level, will be helmed by Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool 1.
Secret Level is an animated anthology series that will feature original short stories set within the worlds of “beloved” video games. The series is said to be similar to Miller’s popular Love, Death & Robots anthology series at Netflix. Miller will reportedly produce Secret Level with his Blur Studio company.
The report mentions that the series could feature stories set within the worlds of New World, Spelunky, and unspecified PlayStation franchises. This is not surprising, given that Prime Video and Sony are already working on a God of War TV show.
In addition to Secret Level, Prime Video is working on several other video game projects, including:
Tim Miller is well-versed in video game entertainment, having worked on the Borderlands movie and produced the two Sonic the Hedgehog films.
The official announcement for Secret Level could be made soon, potentially during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20.
