ChatGPT Rolls Out Advanced Voice Mode for Plus Users

OpenAI has announced that Advanced Voice Mode (AVM) is now available for all Plus and Team users. This new feature is accessible through the ChatGPT mobile app, where users will receive a notification once they have access.

What’s New in Advanced Voice Mode

Advanced Voice Mode has a fresh design and several new features. When you tap on the voice button in the app, an animated blue circle will appear that pulses as it listens and speaks. This new mode is capable of reacting to emotions and interruptions, using memory and custom instructions to inform responses.

New Voices and Features

Advanced Voice Mode offers five new voices: Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale. These voices join the existing Breeze, Juniper, Cove, and Ember voices, bringing the total to nine.

Some of the key features of Advanced Voice Mode include:

  • Improved conversational speed, smoothness, and accents in select foreign languages
  • Custom Instructions and Memory to inform responses
  • A fresh design with an animated blue circle that pulses as it listens and speaks
  • Ability to react to emotions and interruptions
  • Availability and Limitations

Advanced Voice Mode is not yet available in the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, or Liechtenstein. However, it is rolling out to all Plus and Team users in the ChatGPT app over the course of the week.
