As Apple marks ten years of its presence in the smartwatch market, rumors suggest that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 will be a modest update, unlike the expected major overhaul.
Contrary to earlier rumors, the Apple Watch Series 10 will not have a new design. A recent CAD file leak revealed that the new watch will have a thinner model with a bigger screen, but no significant design changes. The rumored redesign, which included a magnetic band attachment system and a thinner case, has been scrapped.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to come with new features like sleep apnea and hypertension detection. The watch will use sleep and breathing patterns to estimate whether someone has sleep apnea and direct users to see a physician. The blood pressure sensor will be rolled out in phases, with the first iteration telling users if their blood pressure is trending upward.
Other expected features include:
* High and low heart rate notifications
* Irregular rhythm notification
* Cardio fitness notifications
* Temperature sensing
* Emergency SOS
* International emergency calling
* Fall Detection
* Crash Detection
* High-g accelerometer
* Second-generation ultrawideband chip
The Apple Watch Series 10 will run on watchOS 11, which promises to polish the Apple Watch experience with new features like Smart Stack widgets and a revamped Control Center. The watch is expected to be announced in September, alongside the iPhone 16, with sales starting in the same month.
The price of the Apple Watch Series 10 is not known yet, but Apple may keep the same prices as the Series 9.
