Apple’s Camera Control button boasts a high-precision force sensor and a capacitive sensor, enabling light press gestures and touch interactions. Users can frame shots, adjust options, and control zoom, exposure, or depth of field by sliding their finger on the Camera Control button.

The case button features a sapphire crystal coupled to a conductive layer, communicating finger movements to the Camera Control.
The little bumps inside the company’s new cases transmit the touch controls from the outside to the phone’s camera button. This allows users to feel like they’re in direct contact with the Camera Control, even when using the case. Currently, only Apple and Beats offer this level of integration, but third-party cases with a cutout on the Camera Control field are also available.
